Trustee
I'm Jane Bolton and I've been a trustee at the Hunslet club since 2021. I started my career in the voluntary sector where I worked with young people who were homeless, and not in education, employment or training. I was aware of the lifeline the Hunslet club was for the young people of Leeds.
Fast forward nearly 20 years and I'm a Children's lawyer, on the Law Society Children's Panel, and I specialise in child protection. I support the Hunslet club by offering guidance on safeguarding and child protection; which was an opportunity I couldn't pass up!

Trustee
Phil joined the Board of Trustees in 2025 and has a long-standing association with The Hunslet Club. Having played rugby at the Club — then known as The Boys Club — in the late 1970s, Phil has many fond memories of his time there. He recalls it as a welcoming place with a strong community spirit, something he believes remains a defining feature of the Club today. He regularly attended training sessions during the week and social nights on Fridays, even winning the club's pool tournament one year.
During his time at the Club, Phil developed important life skills such as discipline and teamwork, qualities that have supported him throughout his life and career. He is immensely proud to now serve as a trustee, viewing the role as an opportunity to give something back to the Club and the local community.
Now retired, Phil spent 40 years working as a management accountant in the electricity industry. He currently serves as Community Director at Hunslet RLFC and remains actively involved in the community as a keen runner and regular volunteer with Cross Flatts parkrun and South Leeds Lakers Running Club.
